Are you guys ready for the next big update on the #Android Operating System - Marshmallow 6.0 !? On this post ill be giving out the changes that will happen.
This version is the latest Android mobile operating system. It was first unveiled last May 2015. On this update, its more focus on improving the user experience of the previous version of Lollipop. They are introducing a new permission architecture, new API’s for contextual assistants, more improved power management when the device is not physically being use, additional fingerprint support ability, the USB type-C connectors on new upcoming devices, and the ability to migrate data applications to a micro SD.
Lock Screen Changes
- The changes to the lock screen are small
- A change in font size to make reading text easier
- The clock has moved to a center location

Reorder Bar
- You can use the reorder bar to better organize a full screen of applications
- You can access the Reorder bar by long pressing on an app and dragging at the top of the screen

Volume Button popup
- The volume control popup a user presses a volume button has had its appearance changed
Quick Settings Reveal
- As with other notifications you can now use two fingers to swipe down to reveal more quick settings options

Application Info
- The new layout of the Application info section grants users more acccess to app settings than ever before
- Users can see how much RAM an app is using, how much storage space, what actions will cause that app to open, as well as control what that app has access to with the new permissions menu

From the application info screen you can:
- set individual permissions

From the “More” menu you can:
- Show system apps (now hidden by default)
- devicd which apps can overlay themselves on other apps (Apps that can appear on top)

- reset all app preferences
- uninstall multiple apps

Application Storage & Data Usage
- The Storage section allows you to see how an app is stored on your device
- The Data usage section allows you to see how much of your network data an app is using

Asking for their permissions upfront is no longer ask on optimizing apps. Instead apps written for Mashmallow ask for permissions only as they need them.
Older apps, or those not updated ask for all their permissions upfront. Theses apps can still have their permissions edited from the “Permission” menu.
- When troubleshooting a device that’s on Marshmallow & an app isnt functioning properly, make sure to check the app permissions

Application Info: Notifications

During Doze Mode:
- Apps are not allowed network
- Events that would wake the device to a lock screen are ignored (wake locks)
- Alarms clocks still function
- Wi-fi scans not performed
- Alarm, syncs and scheduled jobs deferred until the next maintenance window
- SMS, MMS messages, phone calls and amber alerts will still function

Memory & storage
-Only a few changes have been made to how Marshmallow displays available memory & storage

Google Settings
- The specialized google settings has been moved

Reset Network Settings
- Within the Backup and Reset menu you can now reset all network settings
-This is useful if you’ve exhausted all other network settings & you still haven’t been able to resolve the issue
